What data we collect
We may collect the following types of personal data from You for the purpose of conducting our business:

How we collect your data

Personal Identifiable Information (identity data & contact data) is collected using WordPress’s (this website’s) form submission. Digital Gorilla collects PII this way only when consent is given by the user in the form of ticking a mandatory checkbox before submitting details to get in touch with our business. The checkbox clearly states for the users to visit our ‘privacy policy’. By ticking the checkbox the users gives us consent and a lawful basis to use their data.
Please note PII may be collected when Digital Gorilla is contacted (whether by phone or email etc). However, as it isn’t possible to get explicit consent with a checkbox we will only use this data for ‘legitimate interests’ until further consent is given.
We may collect personal data when meeting face to face. If this is the case we have a lawful basis of consent.
We may collect data from you by referral – If this is the case, we will ask the referring business to get consent prior to us receiving the information.
How We Process The Data – Our Lawful Basis:
(a) We may contact you individually using Hostinger email to inform you of any current or new services we have available. We have a lawful basis of legitimate interests.
(b) When submitting the form on our contact page we may use that data to feed into GA4 for more accurate reporting. This data with be hashed & we have a legal basis by you ticking the mandatory checkbox when submitting the form.
(c) To deliver our marketing services.
We will not use your personal data to spam or for unlawful marketing purposes. We will only use your personal data for the reasons originally stated.
In some circumstances, where permitted or required by law, we may process your personal data without your knowledge or consent. This will only be done within the bounds of the Bailiwick of Guernsey Law, 2017 and the law.

As previously mentioned we may process your personal data (such as name, email address etc) where it is necessary for our legitimate interests.

Data Storage
Digital Gorilla takes the storage of your data very seriously. To mitigate any risks we have taken into account the below:
(a) Email communication is performed within servers located within the United Kingdom. We use a well-known hosting service – Hostinger. Hostinger is GDPR compliant.
(b) We may store your data using Office 365. Office 365 is a well known GDPR compliant software and has servers located in the United Kingdom. Office 365 also has different malware etc protection in place to prevent hackers and other loss of data.
(c) Data will be stored within Google Analytics 4 to measure the performance of our business and where we can improve to target people that will be most interested in our services – GA4 servers are based in the United States however we make serious measures to ensure it’s GDPR compliance (including and not limiting consent mode v2). In order to process data and store it on GA4 we must receive consent via the GDPR compliant cookie banner.
(d) Payment information may be stored by HSBC Channel Islands in order to carry out invoicing.
For all of our data storage methods we ensure strong security by incorporating multiple authorisations to login into accounts.
International Data Transfers
Our website domain and office network are all within the European Economic Area (EEA). Should any exceptional occasion require your data to be transferred to and stored in countries outside the EEA, we take appropriate measures to ensure your data is protected when transferred.
Data retention
We will retain your personal data for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes outlined in this Privacy Policy, or as required by applicable laws and regulations.
Any documentation provided to us during the course of the provision of our services will be returned (if in hard copy) or destroyed in line with our data retention policy, which, unless there is good reason not for doing so, will be at the conclusion of the provision of our service to you.
